Description

Another piece of fan art for one of my favorite Luka songs, Aurora. I could listen to it for a long time, and I like the costume design, too... Also doubled as background practice! XD I'm still working on all these highlight things, though...

FEET. I have always struggled with drawing feet, so any help on doing that would be nice. If I got them at least somewhat correct, it's probably just luck, considering that I have no idea how to draw feet at all. XD Other anatomy corrections would be fine, too, since I'm so picky about that. *hopes desperately that she didn't get the toes backwards...*

Also, if possible, I would like shading and highlight suggestions: I'm not sure about the placement of the shadow that the character is casting, or about where (or whether) to add glare or bright light (like blurry white spots on top of the lineart).

This is a great picture!! I don't know much about the character, but I really love the way you've drawn her here--it's a nice scene, and everything ties together really well!

Your shading looks very good. It's very smooth and generally follows the light's direction (which is an easy thing to forget to do or accidentally do inconsistently). I think my only critique there would be that there aren't enough extremes in your shading; you stay pretty comfortably in the middle tones. Even in bright light like that, there would be a couple places of real darkness (right under her arms, or chin where her neck is) and that should be done with a different color other than a peach derivation. It took me forever to understand this, but shadows are usually blue, or green, or purple, or some other weird color. Splash something like that on there at a low opacity, and it'll help your shading really pop! I would do the same thing for her cloths, because the fabric would have dark shadows wherever it's folded or bunching. :)

Overall, the anatomy looks really good too! Feet are literally the bane of my existence, so kudos for tackling them so well here. They look really good--the only thing I would say is that her left foot needs to be a bit broader towards the toes, since she's stepping toward us and the foreshortening would make her toes look a bit wider. It's a hard pose to do, so maybe looking at some stock photos would help! The only other issue there is that her left shoulder is a bit short compared to the right. I usually flip my pictures horizontally to make sure everything is more or less even, so doing that should help balance her out.

You've got a great piece here, keep up the good work!
